Meet A CCMS Student | Sophie Luff

Sophie Luff is a student and cheerleader at Cane creek. She grew up in Arizona and moved to NC when she was 9. Ever since she moved to NC, she made many friends and started cheerleading.

Her passion is cheerleading, so we decide to get to know her better and ask her a few questions about her experiences. She states how she loves the school and being part of such a supportive community, she says ‘’I love being a Cane Creek Student. The teachers are so supportive, and the students are amazing.”

She goes on about her passion for cheer. “[Cheerleading is] really fun and an amazing experience’’. Her definition of a cheerleader is someone ‘who can be supportive towards everyone, and believes that ‘’trust’’ is the most important aspect in cheerleading because they do a lot of stunts and ‘’a person could fall or get hurt’’ if you don't trust your teammates.

Sophie is a flier and a team captain for the cheerleading team and takes it very seriously. She likes being a flier because she gets to do ‘’really cool things in the air’’.

She defines being a team captain as ”really cool, but I don't think that they are better than everyone else because we just have a different uniform’’

Sophie says that ‘’at first it was a little difficult juggling school and cheerleading’’, but now she says it's gotten easier, she just does herself a balance between work and games.’. Sophie sees herself in the future still cheering. She describes it as,‘ one of the best experiences of this year’’.

Sophie says she has so many memories through cheer and school at Cane Creek and she's meet a variety of friends, now considering all of them “best friends”.
